Hi folks - I'm Elliot Kaminetzky and I am a Clinical Psychologist specializing in OCD and anxiety over the life span. I run an OCD and anxiety specialty private practice in lower Manhattan and also provide internet-based PCIT (myocdcare.com/parenting). Seeing the powerful role of parents/caregivers in addressing externalizing disorders in PCIT, I see SPACE as an ideal parallel for their addressing the internalizing disorder of anxiety.
I would love to provide the treatment online as well and was wondering if anyone knows whether there has been research, even exploratory, on its efficacy via teletherapy. Given that most teletherapy comparison studies show similar outcomes regardless of format (in-person v. internet), I would predict that SPACE would follow suit (potentially even better results given context dependent learning factors).
Curious to hear your thoughts and glad to be part of the community!

I just launched a virtual program for parents who are seeing signs of anxiety in their kids and have gotten a lot of positive feedback. I think that psychoeducation and support is valuable whether it's face to face or done virtually.
Hi Elliott! Great question!
Hi Elliot, glad to have you in the forum!
In our current ongoing clinical trial of SPACE at Yale we are offering the option of doing treatment either in person or over video-chat (Zoom). Lot's of parents do prefer the zoom and although we are not yet done with the study and don't have outcomes analyzed the impression is that it works very well. The therapists feel it's just as effective. Curious what others' experience has been?
