Hello! I am currently working with a family whose 5 year old has a lot of anxiety around sleep. We are working on a plan in which the child comes into their room in the middle of the night, they provide supportive statement, and walk her back to her room (this is until the goal is reached before moving to not walking back). The plan states they will walk her back 5 times, and then try again the next day as the child has school and their are other children in the home. Has anyone used a similar approach? Thank you!!

I have although the child in my case was older -- 13yo with some developmental issues (so, young 13yo). We did basically what you're suggesting. Also added some shaping around parents staying with the kid for a few minutes, then standing outside the door for a few minutes after a few times, then not staying at all. Of course made sure to have the parents orien the kid in advance. It was effective!
